How do I register?

Registrations are completed online through PlayHQ via www.playcricket.com.au.Simply search for Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club, then select the program or competition that matches your child's age and experience before following the registration prompts.

What's the difference between a full season and a half season?

A full season covers both Term 4 and Term 1.A half season covers a single school term and is generally suitable for:Players who only wish to participate during Term 4 because they play school cricket in Term 1.New players joining the club for Term 1 who did not play with us during Term 4.

How do I pay my registration fees?

Registration fees are paid securely online during the PlayHQ registration process.Please note that Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club operates under a No Pay, No Play policy. Players must have their registration fees paid before taking the field, as unpaid players are not covered by the club's insurance.

Can I pay my fees in installments?

Yes.Families requiring additional flexibility can:Use the PayPal Pay in 4 option available through PlayHQ (subject to PayPal approval), orContact our Registrar at wynnumjuniors@wmdcc.cricket to discuss a confidential payment arrangement.

What equipment will my child need?

Players are required to have:An official Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club playing shirt (available through the club uniform shop).White cricket trousers (available through the club or any cricket retailer).Cricket shoes or suitable sports footwear.A protective box (mandatory for all players where applicable and not available for loan).Players are encouraged to use their own cricket equipment for both training and matches. While limited club equipment is available for younger age groups and junior girls, families are encouraged to purchase their own kit after their first season.Players wishing to borrow equipment outside these teams should contact juniordevelopment@wmdcc.cricket.

Do I need a new playing shirt every season?

Not at all.If last season's Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club playing shirt still fits and is in good condition, it can continue to be worn. All players are required to wear the official club shirt during matches.

Which age group should my child play in?

Age eligibility is based on your child's age as at 31 August.

Under 9 – 8 years or younger

Under 10 – 9 years or younger

Under 11 – 10 years or younger

Under 12 – 11 years or younger

BEARS Junior Cricket – 12–17 years of age

In some circumstances, younger players may be invited to play in an older age group where their skills and development indicate they are ready. Any request to play above the applicable age group must receive club approval and can be submitted during registration.

Can my child play with their friends?

Yes.During registration you'll have the opportunity to nominate a friend your child would like to play alongside.While we can't guarantee every request, we do our best to accommodate friendship requests wherever team numbers and grading allow.

When will teams be announced?

Team allocations are generally emailed to families several weeks before the season begins.Occasionally minor adjustments may be required after teams are released to ensure balanced numbers across all grades.

When are games played?

Most junior matches are played on Saturdays, with games typically starting at either:8:00am1:00pmWhile morning fixtures are the most common, afternoon games may also be scheduled depending on competition requirements.Girls competitions are generally played on Sunday mornings.

Where does training take place?

Most teams train at the club's training facilities located at:175 Boundary Street, TingalpaIf an alternative venue is required, it will be nearby and families will be advised well in advance.Regular attendance at training is encouraged to support player development and team preparation.

When does training begin?

Official team training commences during the first week of Term 4.The club also offers optional pre-season training sessions to help players prepare before competition begins.

What days and times are training?

Current training schedules include:Girls Heat League: Wednesday, 4:30pm–5:45pmUnder 9: Tuesday, 4:15pm–5:30pmTraining times for Under 10s and older teams are arranged by individual coaches, taking into account ground availability and team preferences.

What happens if it rains?

Unless the club advises otherwise, please assume that training sessions and matches will proceed as scheduled.Any changes due to weather will be communicated promptly through your team's WhatsApp group.

I'd like to coach or manage a team. How can I get involved?

We warmly welcome parents and volunteers to become involved as coaches, managers or team helpers.No previous coaching experience is necessary. The club provides support through Cricket Australia coaching accreditation, mentoring, coach education sessions and ongoing resources throughout the season.Our coaches play an important role in creating a positive, enjoyable environment where players can learn, improve and love the game.All coaches, managers and team officials are required to hold a current Queensland Blue Card.If you're interested in volunteering or would like assistance obtaining a Blue Card, please contact juniordevelopment@wmdcc.cricket.
